Studies carried out and clinical experience confirm the absolute harmlessness and absence of undesirable effects of electromagnetic wave therapy. Contraindications, or rather, use under strict medical supervision, are limited to wearers of pacemakers and magnetisable prostheses, pregnant women, children, patients with serious cardiological and neurological diseases, viral diseases, acute infections, mycoses, or those with extensive tumour states. There are no known significant side effects related to the therapy, nor are there any reports of problems related to excessive exposure to the electromagnetic field generated by the device.
PEMF therapy acts on individual cells in the body by ‘recharging’ them energetically and restoring the correct physiological balance.
PEMF therapy can be performed without the need for a doctor’s prescription; clearly, what we suggest is to always consult your doctor to get a more complete clinical picture and then decide together with him or her on the best course of treatment to follow.
For a good PEMF therapy treatment, it is essential to first consult your doctor to identify the pathology you are suffering from. In general, PEMF therapy requires medium to long treatment times. Cycles of at least 30 days with a minimum duration of 2-4 hours daily are recommended, unless otherwise indicated by the doctor. If necessary, treatment can be repeated several times during the year. For example, in cases of arthrosis, arthritis, osteoporosis and joint pain. There is no risk of overdose. In fact, as in the case of some pathologies (listed in the user manual), it is possible to take night therapy even for 8 consecutive hours.
PEMF stands for Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields. It is often used as a synonym when talking about low-frequency or high-frequency magnetotherapy.
It is possible to perform PEMF therapy on prostheses made of non-magnetisable materials such as titanium, aluminium, chrome, gold, platinum, chromium-cobalt-molybdenum, ceramic covers, UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene).
The minimum duration of a PEMF therapy session should be at least 2 to 4 hours per day. Reducing the time, e.g. doing only one hour of treatment, is not recommended for therapeutic effectiveness. It is therefore recommended to do a minimum session of at least 2 hours continuously.
The magnetic field is localised to the area where the applicator is positioned. It is detectable up to a distance of 50/60 cm from the applicator, while outside this area it is no longer detectable.
